What to get my dad for his bday? ?

Do something nice for him. Write a nice note. It seems to have a much better effect than to buy him something. Maybe get him a plane ticket somewhere or an autographed book? I honestly believe doing something small but nice gets a better reaction, like saying "Thank you", or "I love you", but I don't know why.
