Does racism include actions against the gay community?

Racism is a broad topic and bigots typically exclude based on traits and behaviours. Gays have fought hard for their rights and they still aren't equal to blacks. Does this same bigotry that wrongfully accuses a USDA administrator the same that prevents s from getting married?
