How do i gain the trust back from a parakeet?

okay i just got a female parakeet about 4 days ago from another owner who didnt want her she didnt have a name so i named her nanner paco sanchez when i got her home i did a bad thing i chased her down and grabbed her then i resaerched it and found out that that was a very bad thing to do and now i think she doesnt trust me anymore so how do i gain back the trust of a parakeet who at the moment is staring at me with it head ****** to the side and has been through two other owners who werent that good to her.....she has a fairly big sized cage and a lot of toys to play with!!!please help me with sugar on top!!!!!!
