90's alternative question?

At Starbucks a few weeks ago I hear a song on Sirius' 90's alternative station but didn't catch any lyrics. The song's melody sounded almost like a synthesizer and was practically the same two notes over and over again. It gave the song a rap sound but it was a rock band. Can anyone help me?
